Religion or Legalism -vs- Christianity or Grace
Religion(the devil's Ace trump), has no more to do with Christianity than a Pig has with a B-1 Bomber. Religion is the organizational plan of satan for the orchestration of evil. Religion (Legalism) = Man does work in hope of pleasing a god that GOD hopefully will bless man on basis of that work.
Christianity (Grace) = GOD the SON did the work of Salvation on THE CROSS. Man receives the Blessing as a Free Gift!
You can't work for, earn or deserve GRACE. It's part of GOD the FATHER's fantastic plan from eternity past, whereby HE, in HIS omniscience, knew that mankind in the first created man (While we are born Dichotomous: with a body and a Soul, Adam & Eve were created Trichotomous with a body, soul and human spirit - they were created spiritually alive, while we're born spiritually dead as a result of Adam's original sin) in the distant future would sin, loose the human spirit with which Adam & Eve were endowed at creation, and that sin would be imputed to Adam's progeny forever. Since mankind would be born into the slave market of sin ad since slaves have no way to redeem themselves from the slave market, it was GOD'S Grace Plan that JESUS CHRIST who would be born as Perfect Humanity and Undiminished Deity in one Person forever,would pay the price for our sins, past present and future, thus redeeming us from the slave market of sin with one act of faith on our part.The salvation passages in Scripture are all perfectly translated from Koine Greek and the Hebrew. "Believe on the LORD JESUS CHRIST and thou shall be saved." It doesn't say , Believe on the LORD JESUS CHRIST and give up your bad habits, get shut of your obnoxious personality, look pious, weep tears of repentance at an alter, sign up for missionary duty in the Congo or any other clap trap. The issue is solely to BELIEVE. Believing is the Act of Faith. The Koine Greek word is Pisteuo, which means the only non-meritorious system of perception. It requires no merit on your part to believe. In this case, believe is in the aorist progressive tense in the Koine Greek which would translated: Believe (having one act of faith) with the result that you remain saved forever.
One doesn't have to rededicate their lives; they don't have to skip down the sawdust aisle, they don't have to jump through any psychological hoops. A person in a large group can, with eyes closed and head bowed, acknowledge to GOD the FATHER that they are personally accepting CHRIST as their SAVIOR; they are believing in CHRIST for salvation (or any words in a vernacular with which they're confortable; their are not super-spiritual words to use to accept CHRIST) and at that moment, they start eternity. It is not emotional; in fact emotion is deleterious(HARMFUL TO THE HEALTH OR WELL BEING TO THE GRACE LIFE). Since emotion is the appreciator of the soul the believer in JESUS CHRIST should avoid emotionalism absolutely in their spiritual life that transpires after salvation.
To avail for oneself eternal life in perfect environment, face to face with the members of the GODHEAD,their is but one issue: faith alone in CHRIST alone. Yep, it's that simple; it's free; it's easy and most people, particulary people from a religious background, have a hard time getting a handle on GRACE. They feel that they should have to work for it; hustle around a church, do lots of good deeds, do lots of "Holy" stuff. But all of that stuff; all of that work is the "wood, hay and stubble" that's burned t the last judgement. It's the filthy (menstrual) rags of Jeremiah; it's the dead man's bones of the Gospel of Matthew.
